Bye Bye Orkney

On our last full day in Orkney, all six of us took the school's minibus and we went to the island of Hoy to hike up and see the "Old Man of Hoy" aka a sea sack that is enormous!

It was a pretty easy hike and the path was just re-done in 2009. They flew over helicopters that dropped down stones to make a rocky path. When we got there, we met some awesome 80 year-old couples who go cycling together every year and this year they chose Orkney. I hope that I am that active when I am that age.

We also were invited to a surprise 50th birthday party for Steve and Jenny's friend. It was a nice family gathering with yummy food!

It is with sadness that we are leaving this amazing and relaxing place today. It will be heartbreaking to not look out the window anymore and see the beautiful green hills and the clear blue sea. With hopes that I will be back to visit again--So long Orkney!
